November was National Cyber Security Awareness Month, an annual initiative started by the Department of Homeland Security’s National Cyber Security Division and nonprofit National Cyber Security Alliance to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. Since 2009, the theme of the month has been “Our Shared Responsibility” to highlight the need for all internet users – at all levels within all industries – to do their parts to protect themselves from online threats. For many companies, the month serves as a good time to review information on current and emerging threats and the steps they can take to mitigate their risk.
